Larry James was Music Director and a deejay at Big KeeWee (KEWI - Topeka, KS) from 1960 to 1972 (except for a year and 6 months in 1965 and 1966 while at WPGC in Washington, D.C.) There were 2,600 members of his fan club. He use to have special events, (e.g., free movies, sock hops (dances), etc.) for the members. Larry won the Top Disc Jockey Award for the Midwest from Radio/TV Mirror Magazine in 1965. The following "Teen-age Ten Commandments" were printed on the back of the Larry James fan club card.
Don't let your parents down, they bbrought you up. Be humble enough to obey. You will be giving orders yourself someday. At the first moment, turn away from unclean thinking. Don't show off when driving. If you want to race go to Indianpolis. Choose a date who would make a good mate. Go to church faithfully. The Creator gives us a week. Give him back at least an hour. Choose your companions carefully. You are what they are. Avoid following the crowd. Be an engine, not a caboose. Keep the original 10 Commandments!
