Q My boyfriend (of 2 months) is trying to maintain a very close, personal, friendship relationship with his ex-wife of 7 months (he says for the sake of their 2 children ages 11 and 14). I was wondering if this is possible, or is he still trying to hold on to the past. Can he possibly begin a new relationship with such strong ties to the past one?. . . Very Confused

A Seven months is too soon to know if he has let go of the relationship he had with his wife. Gemerally speaking, it takes longer than seven months. However, if you're lucky, his real reason may be for the benefit of the children.
It is possible to maintain a friendship with a former spouse. You must remember that his duty is first to his children. . . then to you. The ex will always be there. If you cannot handle this, you should move on.
